membership

Chipping Campden Baptist Church is, like all Baptist Churches, run by its membership. It is the Church Members who have the last say in all Church Business. While the day to day running of the Church is delegated to our Ministers and our Leadership Team, at Chipping Campden Baptist Church we encourage everybody with gifts to use them in the life of the church to God’s glory.

Am I eligible for Membership?

You are if you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sin and love him in return, and want to worship and serve Him through the life of the church here.

What are the responsibilities of Membership?

To  love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength by living a life consistent with the Gospel and teaching of Jesus, seeking his kingdom, and sharing regularly in corporate worship, prayer, communion, Christian service, and giving of financial support in proportion to personal resources.

What are the benefits of Membership?

Membership is an important expression of our commitment to Jesus Christ, and to one another as his local church. Church Members have the last say in all Church Business. Members are entitled to vote at Church Vision Meetings and to stand for election as a Deacon.

What about vision and values?

Our vision is.....

To proclaim Jesus Christ to people today.

To make disciples.

To build God’s church and see revival.

To plant new churches and to reach the nations.

Our constitution sets out the rules by which we operate. It is approved by the church members, Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Charity Commission.

Do I need to be Baptised to become a member of the church?

No, Baptism by full immersion as a believer is not a requirement for Church Membership. However, if you have not been baptised as a believer we would encourage you to think seriously about it, as many describe it as a time when God has touched their lives in a very special way.

Who should I talk to about membership?

One of our ministers, or the Church Secretary will be glad to discuss it with you.

OK, I would like to become a member. How do I apply?

Just speak to one of our ministers or the Church Secretary who will be pleased to explain the simple procedure.
