Children at CCBC

Junior Church Logo

Children and young people are an integral and important part of Chipping Campden Baptist Church and we want them to look forward to coming to church. We do not expect them to be still or be quiet and we try to include them wherever possible.

During the Sunday morning service a Crèche is available in one of the nearby classrooms.

The first part of our Sunday morning family worship time is for everyone, then if you are 3-13, why not join our young people for their own activities. Just follow the crowd, and one of the leaders will show you to the right group:

Push ’n’ Shuv (Year 6+)

Trailblazers (Years 4 & 5)

All Stars (Years 1,2 & 3)

Sparklers (Reception & Pre-school)

(We are committed to ensuring the safety of our children and all our leaders and helpers are CRB checked).

Our Aims

Gary & Mel Robinson

Gary and Melanie Robinson gazzarob@btconnect.com co-ordinate Junior Church. They express their aims like this “We strongly believe that children can and do know Jesus in their lives or may come to faith at a later date. We aim to let God work through us to tell of his great love so that the children are in a position to respond to God at whatever level they are at.

Each of the leaders have their own strengths and weaknesses and that is one of the reasons that we are blessed to have such a large team of leaders who work on a rota basis.

We are very aware that we see the children for such a little time in the year (52 hours if they come every week) and that they will spend much more time at school, at home, with friends and also with the TV. We therefore try and make each lesson count and take our ministry as seriously as our schedules permit. However we do want junior church to be a positive experience and we try to include games and activities as much as possible. Research shows that children learn in all sorts of ways which is why we use games, craft, drama, art, reading, writing activities, story telling, worship, dance, music, prayer and Bible Study to greater or lesser extent depending on our own giftings and the interests of the children.

For some, Sunday will be the only time that the children hear about Jesus but for many we hope that we can add something to the major positive influence that the home and school environments are having.”

Child Protection Policy

CCBC adheres to Government and Baptist recommendations in terms of good practice and policies in working with children, teenager and vulnerable adults. Full details are available on request.

Our aim is that everyone who works with our young people holds a current CRB Certificate.

If you have any concerns about the safety of our children please speak to Zena Drew in total confidence.
