The idea of Walkie-Talkie began in late 2008 as a way of meeting and getting to know other Cornerstone-Churches folk on an informal basis.

Our first walk took place on 16^th January 2009  with 9 people walking. We managed 6 walks in total in 2009 as we try to walk every 6-8 weeks and during 2009 we averaged 14 people per walk.

The walks are usually around 5 miles long and we allow 2 – 2 ½ hours – always starting and finishing at a pub so that those who wish to can take lunch together at the end of the walk. Walks alternate between weekdays and Saturdays to allow as many people as possible the opportunity of coming along.

As the walks have progressed we have encouraged people to bring along their non-Christian friends as we have found that people seem perfectly happy to chat when walking and who knows, they may just come along to a Sunday service to find out a little bit more....
